If you are using amarok under Gnome in a proxy environment, I am sure you will be troubled finding proxy settings for amarok in the Configuration of Amarok . Here is a way to specify proxy setting for amarok in Gnome.
- Clear any proxy setting if specified in Amarok Configuration page
- Edit file ~/.kde/share/config/kioslaverc and append the following lines-
[Proxy Settings][$i] ProxyType=1 httpProxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:port/ httpsProxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:port/ ftpProxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:port/
- Save this file and restart Amarok. Now Amarok will recognize your proxy settings.
