Testdisk – A Great Recovery Tool

You must be wondering why I am appreciating this tool this much. Well …this tool is worth it. I saved me from a hell of trouble. Actually due to some unknown reasons , my partition table got corrupted . My one partition was lost and rest were fine. The partition which was lost ( it had some important documents) , different tools showed it as free space.

At ubuntu forums, a fellow suggested to use this tool and it worked awesome. It detected my old partition table and I could recover my lost partition.

Staying Attentive

Here is a humorous tale of medical students showing importance of attentiveness.I found it interesting. Here it goes-

1st year Students of MBBS were attending their 1st Anatomy class.

They all gathered around the surgery table with a read dead dog.

The Professor Started class by telling two important qualities as a Doctor.

The first is that NEVER BE DISGUSTED REGARDING ANYTHING ABOUT BODY.

e.g. He inserted his finger in dog’s mouth & on drawing back…..tasted it……in his own mouth.

Then he said them to do the same.

I had been looking for a good fully feature dictionary software on linux for a long time. For some time I had been running Cambridge and McMillan Dictionaries using wine. There was no native linux dictionary having full fledged features as these dictionaries.

However now I am amazed by Oxford Advanced Learner Dictionary 8th edition which is available for both windows and linux. And I have installed its linux version on my ubuntu karmic and it is working really awesome. I am very impressed like your long felt need is fulfilled.

Memorable Kavya Sandhya Evening at MNNIT

March 18, 2010 is now a memorable day for me. Because this evening I had been spell bound by the charisma of Hindi poetry of our country. Yeah during the cultural fest of my College, MNNIT, this was evening of Kavya Sandhya. What made evening special was presence of The Most Popular Poet among youth Kumar Vishwas, the foundation of Hindi Poetry Budhdev ji, Sarvesh Astana and a few more.

After listening to Kumar Vishwas, I am sure he truly deserves it why he is so much popular. His poetry, wits, sense of humor makes him a great entertainer. He had deep concerns for social issues and touched it in his poetry. He kept the audience spell bound for around two hours. Every single person had enjoyed him heartily. MP Hall was totally packed. This was the most popular event of Culrav.

Other poets were also very good. I liked Budhdev ji for his meaningful poetry. His two lines of poem conveyed deep meanings. Sarvesh Astana had a very humorous style of poetry.

After this Kavya Sandhya, I am a fan of Hindi Kavita. Hope I get a chance to listen to Kumar Vishwas again.
